Students complete a teacher-directed activity to reinforce their
understanding of the trait of organization. Students produce a
narrative writing that demonstrates their understanding of the trait
of organization.
Zoo's Clues
Students develop a better understanding of the relationship between
major and minor details by retrieving interesting facts about animals,
categorizing these facts by using a graphic organizer, and writing an
essay from the gathered information.
A Day in the
Life of a Pioneer: Corrected
Upon
conclusion of this lesson, students will be able to use the word
processor to correctly sequence a diary entry by learning how to
highlight sentences and move them by cutting and pasting to the
correct position. They will also become more familiar with “shotgun”
words (words that indicate transition) such as first, next, second,
and last and learn how to underline the shotgun words.
Making a Timeline
This lesson will guide students through the use of a computer to
compose a timeline to record the sequence of events in a story.
Students will also be able to use the timeline to summarize a story.
