A lesson that demonstrates the geometric representation of factoring
of a difference of squares. There is a java applet and instructions
for cutting out paper models.
Chicago Public Schools
This is a structured lesson plan that provides strategies for teaching,
examples, worksheets, and assessments. (Day 133-141, 9 days of lesson

The
Typical, Hard, and Weird Cases
This is a PurpleMath lesson with three sections for factoring
quadratics: when it is a typical quadratic, when the quadratic term
coefficient is not 1, and when the trinomial degree is a multiple of
2.
Tic-Tac-But-No-Toe Method
This lesson is on the ALEX site and offers good handouts and
practice problems (with answers) for factoring using the Tic-Tac
Method. Note that this method does not teach the concept of
factoring but is good for getting results consistently no matter the
value of the quadratic coefficient.
