Lesson Plans:

Counting Division
Students will relate division to multiplication using counters.

Dividing by One
A three day unit where students will use manipulatives, flashcards, online games and resources to learn 1 digit division.

Literature Computations

The focus of this 10 lesson unit is to teach computation through the use of children's literature.

Multiple Lists, Long Division, Bugs and Rats
Strategies to help students perform long division problems.

The Doorbell Rang
While story is read to students they will work with manipulates in order to make division and multiplication discoveries.

Multiplication & Division with Arrays
Students will learn to multiply and divide using arrays and the commutative property. 

Single-Digit Division
Students will represent division with physical materials, use division symbols, and divide using one-digit divisors.

One-Digit Division
Students will use physical materials to develop an understanding of division and the three parts of a division sentence.

Fun With Division
Students will be involved in hands on activities in order to gain an understanding of division.

Virtual manipulatives related to NCTM standards in the areas of Number & Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement,  and Data Analysis & Probability.  To access tools, click inside the grid on the cell that matches the grade level and standards area desired.
