Fractions: Easy As Pie!

Seven lessons utilizing fraction circles in concrete, pictorial, and symbolic methods.

Pumpkin Pie for All!
Students will take a basic pie recipe and will multiply a fractional amount to make enough for their class.

Fraction Fun
Students will develop strategies for adding and subtracting fractions. Students will search for and generalize patterns.

End-of-the-Year Party
This lesson plan is designed to assess the student's understanding of addition, multiplication, and division of fractional and whole numbers. 

Add Tenths
Students will pictorially represent the tenths place with decimal bars and add decimals in the tenths place.

A+ Math Online Activities
Provides student practice worksheets.  Students can print out worksheets, then click on the "Get Answers" button and print the answers, or they can fill in their answers online and get their worksheets corrected immediately.

Rename in Lowest Terms
Online practice using pictorial fractions.

Virtual manipulatives related to NCTM standards in the areas of Number & Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement,  and Data Analysis & Probability.  To access tools, click inside the grid on the cell that matches the grade level and standards area desired.
