Fractions: Easy As Pie!

Seven lessons utilizing fraction circles in concrete, pictorial, and symbolic methods.

Pumpkin Pie for All!
Students will take a basic pie recipe and will multiply a fractional amount to make enough for their class.

Fraction Fun
Students will develop strategies for adding and subtracting fractions. Students will search for and generalize patterns.


End-of-the-Year Party
This lesson plan is designed to assess the student's understanding of addition, multiplication, and division of fractional and whole numbers. 

Add Tenths
Students will
pictorially represent the tenths place with decimal bars and add decimals in the tenths place.
