Lesson Plans:

Everyday Mathematics
Students will determine how to solve word problems involving time and money.

Just In Time
Students will demonstrate proficiency in determining elapsed time.

Elapsed Time
Students will use beginning and ending time to calculate elapsed time.

Pigs Will Be Pigs
Students will be able to correctly plan and calculate the total amount of money needed for specific items ordered from a given menu of foods.

Fraction Fun
Students will develop strategies for adding and subtracting fractions. Students will search for and generalize patterns.


Cookie Time
Students will have to figure out how to spend an allotted amount of money on food items to decorate a cookie.

Wishing and Hoping
Students will decide what jobs to do at home in order to earn enough money to buy special items that they want.

Pig Out Piggies!
This lesson is a performance event that addresses the concepts of money; budgets; adding, subtracting, multiplying money; and decision making.

Day at Six Flags
Performance task in which students make choices about spending money--application of math to life skills, graphic organizer.
