Lesson Plans:

The Meaning of Decimals:
A complete course in arithmetic basics, with an emphasis on doing math "naturally in our heads."

Introduction To The Number Line:
The students will learn how to add and subtract using the number line with positive and negative numbers.

A "New Set of Numbers".  An Introduction to Integers:
A written lesson plan teaching students to add and subtract positive and negative integers.

Skill in Arithmetic:
A complete course in arithmetic basics, with an emphasis on doing math "naturally in our heads."

Where Does Money Come From: 
Students are given practice in performing basic operations while learning about how taxes work.

The Great Depression - What would it be like today?: 
Calculate the percentage decline in factors affecting the quality of life during the 1930s, and what the same percentage decline for these factors would mean for our lives today.

Compare the cost of living in 1850s New York and the costs of various items today.

How Much Do You Weigh In Outer Space?: 
Students learn about the relationship between mass, gravity, and weight, and apply it to determine weight on other planets in our solar system.

Students explore rate and distance measurements with this activity about movie reels.

Human Capital for Money:  
Students compare salaries and wages of various occupations.

Should I Use Cash or Credit? 
Students use the concept of opportunity cost to build decision making skills.

The Costs of Credit: 
Students develop an understanding of credit and interest rates.

A Roof of Your Own: 
Students explore the economics of home buying.

The Opportunity Cost of a Lifetime: 
Economics assumes people don't have all the resources to satisfy all of their wants so we must make decisions about how to allocate our resources.

Students examine the impact of technology on the economy.
