The United Nations and Threats from Weapons of Mass

This lesson will explore the role of the United Nations peacekeeping
and peacemaking abilities; discuss the types and effects of weapons of
mass destruction and examine just what the threats are. (This lesson
will have to be modified to fit your class.)
The Cuban Missile Crisis
Students will review facts about the Cold War, and research and write
a news article about a Cold War event.
Voting Rights for Women: Pro- and Anti-Suffrage
After completing the lessons in this unit, students will be able to:
1) state arguments for and against suffrage for women in the 19th and
early 20th centuries; and 2) Give examples of how those arguments were
expressed in a variety of media.
