                   economic system
         10.2: Explaining the creation of money through the multiplier effect

Lesson Plans:

Money is What Money Does.
Students will define and explain the functions of money; describe the characteristics that are needed to enable money to carry out these functions effectively.

Banking Services.
Provide students with practice in comparing and evaluating various banking services including checking and savings accounts, ATM/check cashing cards, and online banking. Perform the tasks associated with maintaining checking and savings accounts.


Reflections on Pine Gulch.
Students learn basic banking principles through the use of a narrative. It provides an interesting approach to showing how banks "create" money, what reserves are, and what a "run" on a bank.
