| Lesson Plans:
Introductory lesson on economics systems.
Students will identify
the major types of economic systems and explain how each answers the
fundamental questions.
Bead
Game Simulation.
Students will have the opportunity to participate
in the three basic economic systems, (market, command, and tradition). By
working in each of the systems, students internalize the fundamental
values present in each system. They also gain insights into the basic
advantages and disadvantages of each system.
Comparative Economics.
Students will compare the economies of Chad,
North Korea, and the United States.
Command Economies
Through participation in a simulation, students will learn about the
Command Economic System, which is found in countries like the Former
Soviet Union, North Korea, and China.
