Lesson Plans:

Investigating Central Asia Through Maps

To What Extent Has Geographic Diversity Contributed to Cultural Diversity?
In this lesson, students will identify and discuss the relationship between geographic diversity and cultural diversity in South Asia, examine examples of how geographic isolation has fostered cultural isolation, and determine the extent to which geographic diversity has led to cultural diversity.

In What Ways is South Asia's Location Important to an Understanding of the Region?
In this lesson, students will locate and identify the characteristics of the region's geography, discuss how location and physical characteristics have influenced intra- regional and inter-regional
contacts, and will hypothesize the importance of location as a geographic theme and determine if South Asia's location makes it important.
