Identifying Constitutional provisions regarding the office of the President of the United
                   States.


Lesson Plans:

POTUS
Students will identify the powers and qualifications of the US Presidency. Outline the roles or functions of the President and relate these functions/roles to historical and contemporary actions taken by presidents past and present.

A Calendar of Callers: The President's House.   Students analyze the demands placed on the Chief Executive

George Washington: The Precedent President
Students examine the presidency of George Washington to learn how Washington's actions set the tone for the powers exercised by the executive branch.

Presidential Power and Influence
Students discuss the the "roles of the president" and examine how presidential power varies depending on the chief executive's roll.

Politician in Chief:
Students will examine the formal and informal powers of the president, as well as the political skills required to win office. They will also assess the personal qualities needed to win office and to carry out the responsibilities of the presidency. Using criteria they have developed, students will compare current contenders for the office

Teaching With Documents Lesson Plan: Constitutional Issues: The Separation of Powers

Power Grab Game.
Students learn the Constitutional basis of the separation of powers and the powers held by each of the three branches of government.
