Grade 11, United States History from1877 to the Present
Std. 3:
Explain the impact of American imperialism, including the geographic changes due to the
              Open Door Policy and the Roosevelt Corollary, on the foreign policy of the United States
              between Reconstruction and World War I.

The Age of Imperialism.
Complete unit plan on U.S. territorial expansion. Site includes links to web resources, archival data, discussion questions and tests.


Imperialism and Expansion.
Students will review the geography of the Caribbean and Pacific regions at the turn of the 19th and 20th Centuries; identify territories acquired by the US during the Spanish-American War. list and evaluate the arguments for and against imperialist expansion during the late 1800s and early 1900s.


Imperialism and Expansion (Part 2)
Students will identify the nations that gained independence after the Spanish-American war; describe American foreign policy at the turn of the century.


Yellow Journalism and The Spanish American War.
Students will Understand the causes of the Spanish American War and identify the types of propaganda used before and during the war
