Std 3.1:  Identifying the cultural contributions of early world religions and philosophies      

Lesson :

Buddhism and the Dalai Lama
Students will explore the teachings of the Dalai Lama, and apply these teachings to situations that could take place in their own lives. (This lesson can be modified for 8th grade.)

Jesus and the Rise of Christianity
Students will explore how change affects different classes within a culture and research the effect of Jesus and his teachings on different classes of people. (This lesson can be modified for 8th grade.)

The Teachings of Confucius
This lesson contains a good summary of Confucius's teachings and relevant activities. (Go to teachings of Confucius)
