Yours, Mine and Ours: Determining Boundaries
Students assume the roles
of decision-makers in a boundary dispute. They are asked to consider
existing boundaries and other characteristics of an area to reach a
consensus on whether an area should be divided or remain a single
political entity.

Through The Eyes of A Refugee
Student to analyze the
“Afghanistan, Land in Crisis” map to determine how the physical
geography of this region affects the lifestyles of the individuals who
live there.
Genocide Teaching Project
The Project provides resources to teach about the legal concept of
genocide in high schools, including a discussion of the Genocide
Convention (1948), a brief overview of genocides that have taken place
throughout history, and the types of behavior and actions which may lead
to genocide.
International Alliances
Students learn the history, mission, function, and
geographical range of six international alliances. It then asks them to
research opposing viewpoints
concerning these alliances and to consider the reasons why some people
want to reform or disband these organizations.
Ire Land:
Exploring the History of the Conflict in
Ireland
Students imagine themselves as 'witnesses' to
historical events in different time periods in the Irish conflict. They
then write
'day in the life' accounts of their 'place' in Irish history.
