Have
you ever wondered what it would be like to live outdoors all the time and
depend on your environment to survive? Well that is just how it was for many
Native American tribes. In this Web Quest you will learn about the Creek,

Your
mission is to research your assigned tribe and one other tribe. You will
complete a research journal, a Venn Diagram, construct a costume including props
that represents your tribe, and finally, participate in a presentation in which
you will discuss your tribe.

Process
Step
1: You will be assigned one tribe that
you must research. You may choose any of
the other tribes to include in your research.
Develop a journal detailing the information that you learned about your
tribe and one other tribe provided by the Web Quest.
Step
2: Create a Venn
Diagram contrasting and comparing the two tribes. Remember, one has been assigned and you must
include this tribe in your Venn. You
should include information about:
§
where
they live
§
what
they ate
§
type
of shelter
§
type
of clothing
§
contribution
to early American settlers
§
how
they used the land

“tribe”. Compare information gathered
about your assigned tribes.
Step
4: Construct a costume that closely
depicts the clothing worn by your tribe.
Include a prop that a Native American may have used during their daily
life.
Step
5: Give a presentation about your
assigned tribe sharing the information that you found during your
research. You will wear your costume and
tell the class about the different parts of the clothing and props.

Conclusion
Have
you enjoyed your travel back in time learning about different Native American
tribes? In your presentation you have taken on the role of a member of a
culture very different from your own. Insight into the cultures of people from
the past helps us better understand the events from the past and prepare for
the future.
